Alex Hirschauer brings over 25 years of experience to the world of swim coaching, with a career dedicated to developing athletes at all levels, from grassroots swimmers to Paralympic champions. His expertise and passion for the sport have seen him guide some of Australia’s most inspiring athletes onto the world stage.
Alex’s coaching achievements include working with Alex Hadley at the 2008 Paralympics, Ahmed Kelly across the 2012, 2016 and 2024 Paralympic Games, Monique Murphy at the 2016 Games, and Ashleigh McConnell, also at the 2016 Paralympics. His athletes have gone on to achieve incredible success, not only in the pool but also as role models for resilience and determination.
Recognised for his leadership and dedication, Alex has been named Victorian Para Coach of the Year on four occasions. He remains committed to nurturing the next generation of swimmers, fostering excellence, inclusion, and a love of the water.
