Ben Jenkinson

Ben is the proprietor of First Splashes Swim School and the Lessee of Toronto Swim Centre in Lake Macquarie, NSW. He is currently Head Coach of Macquarie Shores Swimming Club and Vice President of SCTA NSW.  Ben has been a Graduate Assistant at the University of Alabama (1997-2000) and a volunteer assistant coach at University of Louisville (2019).  He has successfully retained his pool management contract through four tender cycles. Several years ago, Ben started applying for government grants as a means of fundraising for his swim club , SCTA NSW and his son’s local footy club. Through numerous applications he has been able to get money for a range of items beneficial to his coaching pursuits and the local community , such as digital scoreboard, Dolphin Timing System, Power Tower, uniforms, flag poles, Starters Stand, electric BBQ and concrete carpark construction. He has discovered that this beats running a Club raffle or Bunnings BBQ!
