Sarah Greenaway

Founder & CEO - Eltee Sydney

Sarah Greenaway is the founder of Eltee Sydney, a brand on a mission to address one of the most overlooked reasons girls drop out of sport: their period. In a national survey of 2,300 Australian girls aged 11–16, 63.9% said they’d quit or avoided sport because of it. For swimmers, that figure spiked to nearly 68%.

The dropout often starts silently around age 11, when puberty, self-consciousness, and a lack of support collide. For Sarah, it became personal when her daughter started skipping swim training. With no suitable gear available, she created UnderSwim—a discreet, absorbent layer worn under swimwear, now officially endorsed by Swimming Australia.

In her talks, Sarah shares insights from real girls, national data, and her own journey as a founder and mum. She unpacks how stigma, secrecy, and outdated rules sideline girls—not just from sport, but from all the long-term benefits that come with staying in it. Skills like confidence, resilience, leadership, and teamwork aren’t “nice to have”—they’re life-shaping.

Her goal is clear: lower the dropout rate by designing period care that works, and building a culture that talks. When girls stay in sport, they stay on the path to bigger, bolder futures. That’s where equity starts—not in adulthood, but in adolescence, with access, support, and gear that keeps them moving.

Because that’s how we shape a future where girls don’t just keep up—they lead.
